When a new PC arrives:

  Before connecting the pc to the Internet:

1.  Install your anti-virus software.

2.  On XP machines, turn off the automatic restore

	Turn Off System Restore
	To turn off System Restore, follow these steps: 
	Click Start, then right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
	Click the System Restore tab.
	Click to select the Turn off System Restore check box (or the Turn off 
	System Restore on all drives check box), and then click OK.
	Click Yes when you receive the prompt to the turn off System Restore.

  Connect to the Internet:

1.  Run the Windows critical updates

	http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

2.  Run the live update for your anti-virus software

3.  Remember, that some MS updates can be removed if the
    end users have administrative rights.
